General intelligence involves the integration of many sources information into a coherent, adaptive model world. To design and construct hardware for general intelligence, we must consider principles both neuroscience very-large-scale integration. For large neural systems capable attributes photonics communication electronics computation are complementary interdependent. Using light enables high fan-out as well low-latency signaling across with no traffic-dependent bottlenecks. computation, inherent nonlinearities, speed, low power consumption Josephson circuits conducive to complex functions.
